What is Parken?

Parken is a free service that helps NYC residents manage alternate side parking by sending SMS reminders before street sweeping occurs.

How You Opt In

When you add a parking spot on Parken, you provide your phone number and see the following disclosure before submitting:

“By submitting this form, you consent to receive text messages from parken App. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to our texts at any time to discontinue reminders.”

By entering your phone number and submitting the form, you explicitly consent to receive SMS messages from Parken.

Types of Messages

• Verification codes: A one-time code to verify your phone number when signing up.
• Street sweeping reminders: Notifications 24 hours and 30 minutes before your scheduled street sweeping time.
• Suspension alerts: A message when alternate side parking is suspended for your area, so you know you don't need to move your car.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your parking schedule. You will typically receive 2–4 messages per week during active street sweeping periods, plus any applicable suspension alerts.

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from Parken. You will receive a confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. No further messages will be sent unless you re-enroll.

Costs

Parken does not charge for SMS messages. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
